Drama as Youth Clashes with Busy body Elder Over Judging Women – Who is Right?
In a video shared by Gossip Mill Nigeria, a youth is seen "schooling" an elderly man on a public bus after the man criticized two women for alighting near a hotel. The young man didn’t hold back, calling out the elder for making assumptions about the women’s intentions. Some these "old school" people continue to see the worls from how it was in 1980.
Reactions are divided. Some, based on comments, felt the youth went too far with his disrespectful tone, pointing out that elders should be respected no matter what. There’s also a gender angle - some comments highlight how quick society is to judge women’s actions, tying into deeper issues of gender inequality in Nigeria (a 2021 study noted Nigeria ranks 184 out of 134 nations on the Gender Equality Index - wow!).
