BREAKING: VeryDarkMan, Questioned By EFCC Over Source Of Income, Mercy Chinwo Suit, etc
Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja on Monday following multiple petitions filed against him.
The questioning, attended by his lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Marvin Omorogbe, began in the afternoon. The EFCC confirmed VDM's arrest, stating it was in response to several complaints, though they did not specify if Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) was involved. The agency plans to arraign him after bail conditions are met.
VDM's lawyer, Adeyanju, claimed his client was deliberately trapped at a GTBank branch in Abuja, where he had gone with his mother regarding unauthorized deductions, before being arrested by EFCC officers. Adeyanju threatened legal action against GTBank. CCTV footage of the arrest has circulated online, sparking accusations of a targeted operation.
