SHOCKING - Over 100 Indian School Children Fall Sick After Dead Snake Found in Lunch
Reports indicate a disturbing incident in Mokama, Bihar, where over 100 children at a government-run school fell ill after consuming their midday meal last week. According to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), a dead snake was reportedly found in the food prior to it being served to the students.
The incident has triggered angry demonstrations from the affected children's families, with protesting villagers reportedly blocking roads. The NHRC has taken cognizance of the media reports and has demanded a detailed investigation from local government officials and police into the matter, including the health status of the children. The commission stated that if the reports are confirmed, it raises serious concerns about the violation of the human rights of the students.
This incident also brings back memories of a tragic 2013 event in Bihar's Saran district, where 23 schoolchildren died after eating food contaminated with pesticides, which had prompted government promises of improved food safety measures in schools.
